Eclecticism-industrial-arts

At our current habitation-presentation we have chosen such an apartment, where courageously are mixing the industrial furniture, design classical pieces, IKEA accessories with classic works of art.

The coatings (white painted floorboards, smoothed concrete) give a homogeneous background to the unique objects.

In the dining room around Piet Hein Eek’s dining table Eames chairs are standing. The baroque chandelier almost brings back the world of the aristocracy of the 18th century. The picture’s determinative color is the light blue, which is cleverly reflected on the dining table. To the style fits well the two suspended hall light and the floating bookshelf.

The living room’s huge empty left spaces are broken by a black sofa set, a really tarnished, worn, brown armchair originating from the beginning of the 20th century and a tripod floor lamp. The antique white tile stove beautifully rhymes to the baroque accessories.

The working table is a remarkable piece, an old cast iron machine feet is transformed into a computer workstation. The working chair is a vintage workshop chair, upholstered is a comfortable, practical piece. Bravely were dangling in over it an IKEA rice lamp.

To the kitchen as well is representative the total eclecticism. Around an old, green garden table there are classic Thonet chairs, on the wall there is an old, store small show-case, the light is given by the accented black industrial lamp. The kitchen furniture emits the old-times atmosphere with the preservation of the old big vent.

The Scandinavian atmosphere can be felt in the bathroom as well, there are 20 x 20 standard white tiles, the tub casing is the Piet Hein Eek styled wooden lathing that already showed up at the dining table.

The bedroom evokes the castle’s luxury. Little furniture is placed, there is just a huge, gilt framed and opulently pinned king bed with astounding blue coverlet, old workshop lamps, which now serves as a reading lamp.
