Painter’s picturesque home in Melbourne

Adriane Strampp’s painter home in Melbourne is like a painting. The former hanger factory was not always so charming. 10 years ago, when its owner bought it the building was bare and empty. After the first, most necessary renovation works for a few years still field conditions were dominating, later gradually it became a real home.

Adriane kept the building’s beautiful, old industrial character. The walls received gray cement or white shielding; the floor is covered with bleached deal floor. The artist chose recycled, industrial and vintage furniture which are space adaptable. The multitude of natural textiles and the own pictures smooth colors soften the space. In the middle of the loft home a fantastic AGA stove is placed. Its warmth reaches every corner of the home and attracts around its inhabitants and guests.

The surroundings of the house are also likeable: a short way off there is nice cafes, a small allotment in the community garden and the artist’s studio is just a few steps away as well.  The latter is worth looking into because its picturesque confusion offers a really beautiful sight.
