Iceland pizzeria in industrial style

This week we present a special pizza restaurant from Reykjavik. Is the work of the Icelandic interior decorator, who by the way is a flea market fanatic. Accordingly, most of the furniture as well are American vintage pieces from abandoned homes.

Although the exterior of the pizza restaurant may seem traditional, inside a tarnished industrial design can be seen. The designer managed to create an authentic Icelandic environment. The structure, such as the highlighting of the wooden ceiling, or the shape of the windows follow the traditional Scandinavian design.

On the classical wooden bar countertop we can see factory lamps, in turn, above not glass holders, but vintage shelves, into which plush and plastic figurines were placed, in this way strengthening the raw and strange emanation of the place.

The wooden ceiling is the interior designer’s favorite part. Each small rectangle was made by hand, the almost floor-like element, the simple lights and the beams invoke an industrial atmosphere.

As a decorative element in many places instead of paintings a special wallpaper was used, which are much more suggestive. In the flight of stairs they left to be seen the stone walls, in some places were painted grey, this way reached the specific Scandinavian industrial feeling.

The gray colors and the white tableware, respectively the classical glass cups emit cleanness, beside which coexist the strong and rough shelves and cabinets in the dining sections.

The tables and chairs originating from schools, factories and old-time dining rooms, as well as the composition of the flea market pans, small cars or elephant figurines complemented with heavy letter forms, lend to the restaurant a grotesque-industrial atmosphere.
