Family house from a stable
This house became from a stable near Winchester and initially was the home of a celebrated racehorse, Lovely Cottage. The beautiful stable was threatened by the destruction, when the professionals saved it.
Preserving its original style was enchanted in an elegant and very modern three bedroom’s detached house.
The AR Design Studio saw the possibility in it. During the renovation, their idea was to preserve the building original, tarnished character. Retained and renovated the wood separating-walls and doors that provide the specific layout.
In this space they housed the necessary functions for a present-day, modern family. The new furniture is clear, neutral. They re-thought some old functions. For example from the horses drinking-trough were made the wood-paved sinks, and from the rings used for horse mooring, the towel racks.
The house has three bedrooms and spacious bathrooms. There is a capacious kitchen in the center of the house. The sunny living-room with floor-to-ceiling glass door has a countryside overlooking.
The building is energy efficient and well insulated. Also, received a new roof, doors and windows and lighting items.
Today is a perfect modern family home, which retains its contemporary aspects.
