Eastern Hungarian Industries

Recently I found a Hungarian website (www.muemlekem.hu), where all the Hungarian monumental buildings are presented.
Of these I have selected four with devastating buildings. All four are located in the ambience of Miskolc and Ózd, in the so-called Hungarian “rust triangle”.

Screw factory in Miskolc:

This complex is in very poor condition, the windows are missing in many places. It is even difficult to go near to the building. The building area is pretty run-down, unused for many years, surrounded by destroyed buildings.

Building for Blow-mashines in Ózd:

This building was built in 1907. The Blowing of the furnaces were housed in this building. The melting-buildings were demolished in the recent years. This monument is protected and takes us back in time to the prosperous past of the city.

New slot in Miskolc:

The mining industry was part of the Diósgyőr Vasgyár (iron factory) and is due until 1874. An extension was built between 1902-1903, the new buildings were built according to the blueprints of Mátyás Szvetlik and Lajos Murányi from the bricks of the local brick factory.

Brick factory in Ózd:

This factory was built in 1909. At the same places once stood the advancing timber buildings of the factory.
