Burnt paper factory

A burnt-out, abandoned paper mill in Budafok (Budapest). Founded at the end of 1800 and during operation of this factory it was one of the largest paper mills in Hungary.

Now the factory is the home of the homeless, the vegetation is overgrown, the rails are industry-leave (more photos).

The Centre for Contemporary Architecture has launched an initiative called “Walk Through the City” (Városi Séták). “Dysfunctional public buildings, abandoned water towers, industrial plants, all of this can be an experience for the outdoor lovers of architecture.”

In June, the aim of “Walk Through the City” is the paper mill in Budafok. Only a limited number of interested parties can register for a symbolic amount.

I am already registered. And you?
