Loft DIY
In the English language there is a catchy acronym, DIY = Do It Yourself.
This expression fits perfectly into this property because the owners (couple) have all established themselves with their own hands. Pulled up and decorated walls, designed lamps himself.
The apartment is based on the contrast: dark – light, male-female, old-new, rustic-modern. The furnishings come from many sources, from flea markets, from e-bay and of course friends.
The lamp above the dining table is their own invention. The lamp consists of exactly 100 light bulbs, the bulbs can be switched on for 10 separately. The black wall is a perfect background for pictures and photographic collections, and an old wagon. The huge table is surrounded by Thonett-chairs.
In the kitchen, besides the IKEA furniture a work table, like an island. Black-painted wallpaper coveres the walls.
Old bus stop signs, many-many numbers and letters, and a cabinet with many drawers.
The bedroom is the female part of the apartment. A place for rest and relaxation. Vintage furniture can be found here, the beds are heirlooms. The woman is lover and collector of antique tea cups.
The big lesson is: a spectacular interior can be compiled with much imagination and little money!
