Home workplace from a distillery

In a former distillery, gray pants, who are dealing with furniture-, lightning projection and architecture, formed his home workplace.

The three young members of the studio considered that the flexibility is the main criterion at the renewal of the property which was bought near Seattle.

The space in the daytime is open and inspiring, at night is closed and intimate. The rotatable partition wall makes possible the switching. The various spaces are functioning as an office, creative workhouse, representational space and alcove.

We arrive in the studio through a staircase; the walls have been decorated with their friend, Mark Von Rosentiel wall-painting.

The rough brick walls are also decorated with contemporary art works.  In the rest areas in turn the owner’s personal belongings, photos, musical instruments are hanging on the wall. A significant part of the setup is consisting of furniture designed by gray pants. Among them one of the most exciting is their special chair made from maple veneer, which pre-series production prototype was housed in the home workplace.

Some of the illuminators are also gray pants creations, such as the lamp inspired by the Jupiter planet. However the lamps are needed only at night, because the 110 square meter space from three sides, all day receives natural light.

The studio has also a direct connection with the roof terrace, which is used not only as a diner, but also as a workshop.
