artKRAFT in the XI. district!
After long planning and renovation, as you probably already know, the artKRAFT moved into its new location, in the XI. district’s Budafoki road 70!
Due to our style and passion felt towards industrial and factory buildings as well, we could only imagine at a special place our new office and huge warehouse, that’s why the choice fell on the 11th district’s, former “Csonka” then “Április 4.” machine factory’s building. Occupying the rust zone and the district’s tarnished building, however means responsibility as well, which we assume for the formation of the urban, industrial and cultural environment.
We feel this responsibility primarily towards the district cultural life’s reinvigoration, that’s why we joined the Kult 11 Association. We believe that besides the artKRAFT’s international presence are important the local organizations, so that the residents and visitors more directly and actively can take part in the shaping of the arts and cultural life.
Together with local galleries, such as the Godot Gallery and Faur Zsófi’s Gallery, cafes, restaurants and museums we would like to give back to the district with many programs its arts and gastronomy bubble, which functioned as a cultural center on the turn of the century.
In the direction of Kult11 is significant the Eleven Design weekend that is organized twice in a year. The program primarily focuses at the surroundings of the Bartók Béla road and since artKRAFT falls a bit outside, therefore on workshops and pop-up events you can meet us.
But the district consists not only from the Bartók Béla road, the easily accessible green parts as well are tempting in the 11th district. Therefore, we recommend the Kopaszi-barrier that is located near the artKRAFT, with its sit out places and playgrounds or with the subway construction renewed Bikás Park with its sport grounds.
