Eclectic home in a Barcelona school building

Invalid Displayed Gallery

Baroque elements and rampant ornamentation characterize the style of this Catalan loft. Beside graceful patterns, of course, the former school’s cool, industrial elements as well are sparkling.

The glitter of the hallway’s gold wallpaper is restrained by a worn, matt wooden table.

The living room’s strip floor is counterbalanced by black wall inserts and wooden slats. On white, meticulously decorated, built-in cabinet, books and ornaments are resting. Beside grey sand colored corner sofa there is an art deco serving table.

Behind the resting/seating corner a robust dining table is laying. Is surrounded by cold, grey armchairs and above the luxurious seating decorated with rivets a crystal chandelier is swaying. The dark carpet with briar-rose and the elegant bouquet almost evoke the atmosphere of old hunting lodges.

In the cafeteria area you can rest/relax on a brick red, velvet sofa.

The next lounge shines also in dark shades. In front of the chesterfield sofa we can see ebony black chairs that evoke the style of the early 20th century.

Among the gray walls of the kitchen received place lighter, built-in wooden cabinets. The marble counter of the kitchen counter massively dominates the center of the room. It is a fragile ornament the glass lamp shaded pendant lamp and the old portraits that can be seen on the wall.

Even in the restroom as well shows itself the detail rich elaboration. The simplicity of a wooden washbasin faces slushy elements of the silk wallpaper and vintage mirror.

Impressive, white stairs wraps among the floors.

Among the children’s room powdered pink walls an antique dressing wall stands in the corner. In contrast to the melancholic ornament thrones a built-in cabinet bordered with decorative framed doors.

The workroom/area shows a much clearer design. There are white shelves and white desk complemented with black chairs.

In front of the blue walls of the bedroom British flags and Scottish cubes are adorning.

In the other room, the royal blue shade conquers. Here, on tarnished black base, white inscriptions, an armchair equipped with Baroque ornamentation and a small chest adorn the furnishing.

The host of splendid materials and forms emerge from the old, school walls. The more flagrant pieces are well counterpointed by some industrial, worn-out furniture.
