Sloppy and funny loft from California
In the sunny California as well can be developed industrial loft with bare brick walls and recycled, retro furniture. This week we present a Santa Monica beach, surfer home.
The sloppy, sunny spirit determines the old warehouse’s atmosphere as well. However, the iron structured windows, red brick walls, concrete floor and the wooden-beamed ceiling provide a special framework to the funny accessories.
The living room’s style is determined by the old leather sitting set. The classical wooden small table in its style fits well to the elegant pieces, but with the color enhances the black and white contrast. The accessories are vintage pieces, like the little worn Persian carpet, the painting leaned in the corner and the old exit lettering. With the decoration can be well emphasized de simple, but “dusty and used” radiance of the furnishings. The small cactus is a creative reference to the nearby desert environment.
On the other corner of the living room old tram seats can be seen, completed with a surfboard, which imaginatively reflects to the nearby beach.
On the open-plan loft’s gallery that was built from wood, there is the bedroom and the work corner as well. Practical skylight lets in the light, which is necessary also to develop the photographs. The rest of the light is provided by hanging neon lamps. In the work corner, self-made wooden table and also wooden, from the flea market acquired, chairs function. In the documents storage helps an old, medical metal cabinet, and a lot of cactuses complement the space.
Overall, the raw spaces and tarnished materials dominate in the apartment. It is not over decorated and overcrowded, but the desert and dingy atmosphere is creatively combined with the industrial style.
