Striking loft in the building of a former fire station

It is a challenge to convert a house that in olden times functioned as a fire station to an industrial styled apartment. In this case, during the renovation the designers mixed the distinctive elements of the past with industrial charm and modern comfort.

Beside the living room’s wooden beams and columns in vain we search the famous fire bar, in this case a metal spiral staircase connects the floors. The brown structural elements are complemented by white and red brick walls. In the TV corner the butter-color dominates and in front of an elegant corner sofa there are modern coffee tables. Burgundy carpet and an eventful painting complement the monochromatic furniture.

In front of the red brick wall was housed the reading corner. Wooden bookshelves, iconic leather armchairs and a glass plate resting on a log conjure intimate and comfortable the room.

The dining room’s style fits to the already known modern elegance. Beside the wood, brown and white materials also the metal elements appear in the kitchen. Behind the clear lined kitchen counter there are black bar stools. On the iron legs of the dining table lays a massive wooden plate. Plastic dining chairs harmonize with the contemporary charm of the bar stools and hanging lamp.

In the decoration of the tarnished space small trophies as well as metal and ceramic ornaments are helping. The dry decoration brings to mind the atmosphere of the prairie.

Also the bathroom that is located on the upper story represents a simple, no-frills style. Puritan glass walls, white tile and wooden shelves form the furnishing.

The result of the renovation and re-furnishing is a hint of masculine interior, which illuminates exciting, industrial materials.
