Australian blockhouse in new gown

This week we present the transformation of an old log-house built in 1902. The revitalization of the shabby, board house took place over 10 weeks. During this time, the designers tried to preserve the tarnished structure, but at the same time conjured for the new residents a stylish and comfortable interior.

The living room framed with dark plank floors, white walls and huge window, there is on the ground floor. The central space’s character is defined by the grey shades. Next to the entrance a vintage-styled, metal stove occupies space, which is complemented by an old firewood holder. Also in grey shade is resplendent the sturdy, wooden wardrobe and the opposite its placed comfortable sofa. Above the sofa set we can see classical pictures that amplify the nostalgic mood. Evoke the 18th-19th century English, country style the raw wooden benches that function as a small table and the puritan armchair as well.

In the dining room the rustic, black table is surrounded by retro chairs made in the 1950s. This room also emphasizes the elegantly austere, classic style, which could be observed in the living room as well. It give warm atmosphere to the room a special, bronze and gold shaded hall lamp and a crochet carpet that was bought from a Parisian flea market.

The small kitchen’s rustic atmosphere is highlighted by the antique, black oven, the concrete floor and the concrete kitchen counter. The simple wood shelves, bench and white enamel lamps are the stylish accessories of the eclectic furnishing.

The ceiling beams of the bedroom that is on the first floor, light bleakly among the white-painted walls. With grey bad covers and trophies were shaded the simple furnishing. The bathroom opening from here hides a wonderful, empire styled bath. The shabby, woozy atmosphere was conjured even more emphatic by the small, explosion-proof lamp and medical instrument table.

The traditional structured small house’s interior is unusual, and yet harmonic pieces were smuggled into it by the designers. Thus, achieved on the one hand, a cozy atmosphere, and on the other part a creative, unconventional and sophisticated style.
