Industrial styled miniloft from Budapest

In our Weekly Curiosities column we look over better the furnishing and conversion of a Budapest mini-loft. During the modification the principles of lightness and combinability were followed, as well as a lot of artKRAFT piece decorate the exciting and modern interior. The former studio now functions as a loft of a young girl.

During the modernization the huge, steel-framed windows were left, this way the apartment is flooded with light. The walls were re-painted, neutral grey and tarnished metallic colors were used. In the middle of the loft is located the dining, where a vintage wooden table is surrounded by old metal chairs, an office chair and a more traditional piece. Large, enameled hall light illuminates the central space. In the kitchenette underneath the wooden counter metal and wood cabinets were built into, by way of storage. The blue harmonica lamp above the sink and the arm wall lamp next to the window were put in the apartment from the artKRAFT.

The living room’s massive, monoblock sofa from several retro pieces, is a spectacular solution. The coffee table that can be seen in front of it was converted from an old timber trolley. The special deck-chair is also eye-catching, while the small, green bench and the art-deco puff give a lovely shade to the industrial style. On the other side of the living room we can see a graceful, metal structured desk, which cast iron legs once were done from a machine mould. The floor lamp beside the table is an old, transformed dentist’s drill, while in front of it is standing a Stoll office chair from the 1920s.

It is an interesting and creative solution the separation of the private parts. The sleeping area was separated with a metal shelf system, while the sliding door of the bathroom is originating from the shutter of an old civilian house. To the interior are typical the exciting and inspiring solutions, where imaginatively were blended the rustic and industrial atmosphere.
