New York style in a factory from Vilnius

Invalid Displayed Gallery

The interior of a deserted factory near Vilnius was re-born in an American, rustic style. The modern, yet striking loft works as a home and studio as well.

The iron columns and structure proved to be irremovable, while the floor could be lowered downwards. This way at the section under the windows sofas and a low coffee table were placed. The patterned, bohemian pieces can be opened into beds, while the top of the table was transformed from the piece of a Cretan house’s wooden door.

The dining harmonizing with the living room occupies one of the spaces under the gallery. The chairs and the wooden table are also from Crete. The bright, natural brown shades are stir up by the vibration of the bookshelf.

The restoration of the iron columns was a big task, but in this way has been managed to give back/reflect the atmosphere of the American warehouses that were built at the turn of the century. The ash wood stairs that lead upstairs occupy little space, the lower steps work as storage as well.

There is a relatively darker bar under the mezzanine. The black wall used as a board gives depth to the space, while the light green and white furniture do not allow the too much darkening of the furnishings’ atmosphere/mood.

The rest of the ground floor works as a studio. Beside a comfortable, spacious desk a wall clock is adorning that was made from the piece of an old wrought iron fence of a Vilnius street.

The two bathrooms are over each other. The simpler, white shaded room is followed by a shower that shines in red color.

The bedroom that stands on the gallery it counterpoints the below crowdedness. Here everything wishes to highlight the contrast of the white brick walls and brown wooden floor. It is calm and slow.

A hidden office as well was placed in the corner. It is full of life, creative snug, where antiquities are inspiring for creation.

It is a brilliant, functional interior in such a building that at the same time evokes the industrial revolution and offers modern comfort.
