Revamped barn with works of art

Invalid Displayed Gallery

An artist couple dwell and re-dreamed this Australian, rustic house. The building hidden with garden in front of the street passers-by, in olden times functioned as a barn.

In the ground floor white brick walls, wooden slats and pottery tiles frame the living room. On ebony black sideboard books and ceramics are resting, several documents were housed on the retro bookshelf. As decorative element we can see macramé hanging plants and a painting placed on a huge drawing board, several smaller wall pictures as well accompany the two bigger decorations.

On the other side of the living room, beside a comfortable bookcase, you can let off the tired steam on a wooden framed, leather reading armchair. The drawing table and stool that fit well to the style of the last century’s ‘50s-‘60s, further enhance the retro atmosphere. The dark shaded paintings, stuffed pheasant and vintage fireplace, beside the bright pieces, represent a strong contrast.

The kitchen’s white furnishing is thrown up by some bohemian, bright-turquoise surfaces.

In front of the flight of stairs’ section is located the dining room/area. Natural, brownish and red tones dominate in the room. The wooden dining table, wood furniture, strip floor and autumn colors conjure a languid atmosphere among the white walls.

On the floor it can be admired the bedroom’s furnishing. Due to the blue window frames it is really intimate the room that relies again on wooden base materials. Under black and white pictures antique chest of drawers are adorned, while white textiles and green plants refresh the atmosphere.

The interior of the old, converted house may seem always almost incomplete and continuously variable. However, the furniture that live their second live and the owner’s art objects and DIY pieces form a pulsing, always inspiring harmony.
