Scandinavian re-dreamed lighthouse

Invalid Displayed Gallery

This little lighthouse is on the island of Gotland, as well as beside it is the old cottage of the lighthouse keeper. The worn, world-end, industrial atmosphere is emphasized with imaginative/creative accessories in the nowadays private house style as well.

The contrast of the darkly gleaming floor and white walls, already in the hall conjures intimate/familiar the moments of preparation or arrival. Next to a lean, red brick wall you may sit down on a practical wooden bench, or even rest as well reading on the gray lambskins.

The not too spacious lower level continues with the dining room. In front of white colored, built-in kitchen cabinets a solid, wooden round table is standing. Chairs, harmonizing with the kitchen furniture surround the dining table.

One of the ornaments of the living room is the pale pink carpet, which among the dark color calls the attention to itself in a noble way. A gray corner sofa is situated in front of the large windows. A narrow concrete surface in the wall makes exciting the space, as well as the modern, clear-out shelves and small table.

The strong atmosphere of the floor’s attic are provided by the wooden beams and wooden floors. Elegant, mauve colored textiles and a graceful reading lamp represent the discrete seriousness of the adult bedroom.

Also in the furnishing of the nursery is almost palpable the Scandinavian “rigidity”, which was “got crazy” by the designers with a waggish wallpaper.

The exterior of the garden and house rightly reflects the internal interior simple, not decorated peace. Simple, but great.
