Simple studio from Copenhagen

In our Weekly Curiosities column we present an apartment from the 1800s that was designed in a former pharmacy building. From the former tarnished structure are re-appearing the original parts, but the furnishing was dedicated to the presentation of the harmony between the modern and classical.

The hall and the entrance are shining in strange, grayish-bluish color, which provide a simple, but majestic base for example to the golden colored lamp that is placed on the floor or to the metal framed-concrete chair. Going further we reach the dining room, where the shabby walls are taking us back into the past. In front of the imposing walls only a few furniture is positioned, as the simple wooden table and the chairs that fit to it. As a decoration they placed in the room a full-length mirror that bears on it a few dash of color and a movable table.

Similar modesty is reflected also in the kitchen, however, here continues the deployment of blue and gray colors. The light-gray walls and the darker gray parts are well suited to the industrial styled, metal framed, marble-topped coated cupboard. The turquoise blue door together with the wooden materials smuggle brightness among the dark pieces.

In the bedroom is also reflected the simplicity, here as well the walls are unpainted and worn. The beddings also highlight the influx of light and radiate brightness. The role of the few decoration elements here are filled by the Scandinavian styled book table and by the empty, floor supported picture frames. The adjacent tiny bathroom operates with darker colors, but the placement of little, accentuated furnishings, there as well is typical.

With the combination of dark and neutral colors was managed to establish an elegant, but yet industrial atmosphere. To this fund the decorators chose a few and simple, but accented furniture together with ingenious accessories.
