How many DIY decorations fit in a loft?

The shape of maximum light and available space was the main goal at this Madrid’s loft conversion. The main attraction of the 130 square-meters apartment is the wonderful view that has been even more emphasized with the elimination of the suspended ceiling and with the painting of the walls into white. The floor almost everywhere consists of oak wood slats, in turn the furniture and accessories often were designed and assembled by the owner.

For the individual creativity, is a good example also the lamp that can be seen above the dining room and, which was made from colander. This unique piece tosses the space consisting of simple chairs and table. In the kitchen a real joinery work can be seen. Next to it there is a bigger dining room as well, where chairs salvaged at clearance are surrounding a simple, but massive wooden table. The furnishing here also is colored with art objects, like the posters placed on the walls, the DIY work that stands on the table, and the lamp consisting of beaters.

This is the bigger dining part of the living room, where the retro pieces are the most prominent. The light blue, sidecar scooter attracts the eye, the cream-colored, metal-framed chairs that can be seen beside it complement well the atmosphere. It is also a vintage piece the repaired disc player from the ‘50s, which’s wood material is a great match to the solid wood Batavia table.

The working part with rolling metal frames is limited from the living room. The simple table is an old IKEA piece, in front of which can be seen a chair saved from the flea market. The additional metal letters and numbers were bought from an antique shop and in the background placed stock cabinet is again a DIY piece.

The bedspread that can be seen in the bedroom is the product of Zara Home, but the real specialty is the Fritz Hansen armchairs that can be seen in the corner. In the bedroom as well, paid attention to the harmony of the materials and colors and to the elimination of flamboyance.
