Hundreds of years old foundry in new form

Invalid Displayed Gallery

This old, Swedish building for many years served the empowerment of the national ore industry. Then, as time went by, it started to become a tarnished, industrial ruin, until in 1903 begun its renovation. Nowadays it functions as a charming, special home and guest house.

At the lower level of the multi-storied we can find a spacious kitchen and dining room. Steel framed windows come into our heads the industrial past. The kitchen’s sink and container are made up of metal work tables. The clear-out, metallic shine fits well to the kitchen tools and fridge. Tiny, explosion proof light and factory details highlight the industrial atmosphere.

The huge dining table of the sun-flooded dining room is surrounded by rattan chairs with backrest. Enamel lamps give artificial lighting. Next to the dining room a coffee corner as well was housed upstairs, which was settled around a vintage stove. In the idyllic corner, it is possible to sit down on pillows and poufs.

The next floors can be reached by stairs protected with metal grids. Here can be seen the original wooden columns and beams. In front of the living room a simple, small table is standing with dry plants and wooden brown ornaments.

In front of the living room’s cozy windows retro armchairs covered with lambskin/leather are parading. To the snow white pieces a metal reading lamp, an old wooden chest and bookcase give steely seriousness.

On the other side of the waiting area comfortable armchairs surround a small, wooden table. A unique designed chandelier, dry branches and old paintings evoke the lethargy of the past.

The bedrooms that are located on the next floor are the spectacular representatives of the Scandinavian coldness. Between white walls we can find white painted or bright, wooden furniture. A few accent furniture and accessory draw the attention on themselves. A rustic cabinet with shelves and showy wall pictures bring a splash of color into the sterile frame.

The terrace’s grey harmony fits well with the style of the industrial housing. The faded, worn colors and materials imaginatively emphasize the building’s centuries-old past. The creative, elegant conversion, has resulted an unadulterated, industrial, Scandinavian interior.
