Industrial spirit in an old factory building

Invalid Displayed Gallery

As a rare diamond shines in the center of Paris a factory built in the 17th century, which was owned by Gustave Eiffel as well. After many years of neglect now the raw spaces are transformed into creative lofts, from which we present one in more detail as well.

In the 1 000 square meters, double height loft there are no walls, but with special solutions the open space was divided into three parts. The barrel-vaulted ceiling, the beautiful riveted iron pillars and beams, together with the windows that are running along in full-length on one side emphasize the industrial character. The owner coated the floor with vintage wooden plank, in order to remain style true.

A simple partition delimits the living room area, to which dark, metallic light fits well the metal cabinet that is located in front of it, contrasted with a Noguchi floor lamp. The furnishing is minimalist, but we can see accented pieces. The seriousness of the Paola Navone designer sofa is weakened with lighter accessories, for example with a Butterfly armchair and vintage ceramics, glasses. On the Moroccan Berber carpet adorn the Eames La Chaise iconic armchair and a rough surfaced, white painted small table.

The dining area is separated from the kitchen by vintage cabinet series. In front of the show-cases that are used for storages and the cabinets is located a dining table that was dreamed by Paola Navone, which is surrounded by old, second-hand chairs. The massive illumination of the industrial, neon lamps that are hanging from the metal beams is in harmony with the masculine, hard pieces. On the other side, in the narrow kitchen a red refrigerator means a dash of color among the black and gray furniture. In front of the big, factory windows an industrial-styled small coffee table cheerfully attenuates the seriousness of the interior.

The bedroom and the bathroom are located in a more closed section. In front of the white walls a simple double bed and an old, iron small workshop cabinet form the furnishing. An Eames rocking chair and some red accessories create a light atmosphere between the wooden strip floor and iron elements.

In the bathroom as well we can observe the combination of the playsome and clear-out details. Beside the simple, enameled was basins, the most simple white tile is the pavement. This is broken by the Boffi red twist taps that resemble to the industrial style, by the minimalist mirrors and the simple, wall globe lamps.
