Inspiring spaces in an architect’s home

What happens when an architect experiments with spaces without compromise? The everyday habits such as the bathing become a luxury activity. Thus, the bathroom as well occupies a prominent role in the house.

The functionality, mobility and ductility were important directives at building and planning. The dining room is surrounded by worn concrete walls and only on small, above windows drifts into the light. The simple, green colored kitchen corner does not divert the attention from the imposing dining table and chairs. The concrete seated bar stools are the spectacular accessories of the counter. Beside a clear-out wooden table there are black, brown and orange chairs. Cheerful lamps with shade are hanging above the table.

The kitchen’s red-brick dismantlement is followed by wooden stairs. In the attic bedroom and bathroom is prevailed a minimalist, simple-lined style.

In the attic there is a second dining area as well with a splendid view. In front of the red brick wall there is a metal kitchen counter and furniture. The panel of the dining table consists of dark wooden slats. The melancholic mood is emphasized by the gray walls and the vintage, dark wooden chairs.

The living room is situated on the upper story. With its rustic strip floors, huge windows and grey walls  conveys the atmosphere of old, civilian homes. The intimacy of old times is also higlighted by the stove and the ornate framed mirror. The comfortable, grey sofas and rattan poufs however, repeat the already familiar puritanical attitude.

The upstairs located bedroom and bathroom are more decorative than their rooftop fellows. In the bedroom dominate the neutral colors with modern style notes. A small table, painting and mannequin serve as decorations beside the double bed.

In the bathroom with copper taps and macrame hanging potted plants begin the spa atmosphere.

The layout of rooms and spaces suggests uniqueness and creativity. In the furnishing of each room different style and function is reflected.
