Our summer house… (3)

Two years ago, we have acquired and old Zala stone house on a vineyard, which was gradually renewed. The end is still far, but it takes shape. Now the bathroom comes.

The location of the bathroom was strongly influenced by the Jotul fireplace that is in the house.

Since in our summer house there is no gas, and the electricity is provided by solar panels, thus the openings of the fireplace ensure the adequate warmth in this room. That’s why was placed “behind” the fireplace. The hot water is given by a water heater that functions with PB gas bottle, which due to the ventilation could not be put in the bathroom, therefore was housed in an external projection, on the other side of the bathroom.

The simple white and grey Zalakerémia tile is broken by the black and white cement sheets that were found in the house.

They have been put on the wall of the big-sized, 100 x 100 shower cabin, as well as on the wall that is at the wash-room. The old stone walls are far away from the perpendicular, this way paving specialists had a very hard job. The impregnation and the embalming of the cement sheets is still pending, in addition to the water repellency they will have beautiful santinity. Now they are unglazed and before the coating they have been cleaned with hydrochloric acid.

The simple basin is been kept by an old green machine footrest. This is the only color in the room. Under the white, granite grist top plate we built in color-coordinated old green wooden drawers. Over the years we have already tried several surfaces to the lavatories, we had glass, we had wood, but in fact only the stone is really durable and civilized with the splashing water. Especially beside a child.

Above the IKEA black-framed mirror a Bauhaus wall glass lamp gives the light, to this in form fits the graceful lined, white glass ceiling lamp.

The taps and shower are the affordable priced Kludi under wall-face products.

Old wooden hangers and a milking stool are providing the packing surface. The ledge of the white wooden window is not finished yet, will be tarnished solid wood, as the door. Above the built-in tank toilet the built-in cabinet’s door is already done, we are only waiting for the local carpenter.

We kept the visible wooden ceiling, but we painted it to white.

To be continued.
