Seaside home with industrial accessories

This week we present a renovated old house from the Dutch beach. The old house structure and the special environment made possible several exciting solutions.

In the center there is the kitchen and the dining area, where the everyday family life takes place. The vintage dining table is originating from the Netherlands Antilles, the chairs that are around it also live their second use. The chairs are from old schools and factories, the retro pieces were purchased online.

The owners knew from the beginning that they would like a spacious dining room with wood-burning stove and built-in cabinet with metal coating. One day thew saw the near-by business’s sheet, which was made from stainless steel that was manufactured for crab fisherman, but after all became a kitchen counter for the fraction of the cost of an authentic kitchen counter. The floor is covered with concrete and on the built-in balcony we almost can feel that we are in the nature. As decorative elements Delft porcelain plates, colored glasses and fresh flowers are placed.

The living room that is opening from the dining area also through the huge windows lets in the light. In the middle a comfortable sofa and a vintage armchair surround the old, rural stools. The brown leather materials, dried flowers and gray colors are invoking the northern landscapes’ natural environment.

The upstairs bedrooms suggest a puritan simplicity. The panel-works here also are the decisive elements of the room, which are combined with metal and concrete elements, for example in the case of bath and metal buckets. The close to nature acceessories here also play an important role.
